Maureen Jack-LaCroix, Executive Director: As the CEO of Jack of Hearts Productions, Maureen brought twenty years experience producing large multi-faceted events such as Slam City Jam international skateboard festival, Music West festival and conference, Tears Are Not Enough African aid initiative, and the Gala Opening of Expo '86 for CBCTV. A student and leader of group process in humanistic, cognitive and transpersonal psychology for 15 years, Maureen facilitates leadership training and team building for companies and executives. She was awarded the 40under40 Top Business Achievers in 1993 and the Ethics In Action Award in 1996. With a Master of Arts in Eco-Psychology and Creation Spirituality, Maureen brings her love of the arts, Earth and community together as the Founder and Executive Director of "Be The Change".
Marcus Hynes, Operations Coordinator: Marcus recently graduated from Halifax’s Dalhousie University with a degree in Political Science and Journalism. After moving to British Columbia with his fiancée, he decided he wanted to apply his passion for ecology and social justice through the field of non-profit management. Marcus brings a broad base of knowledge and experience to Be The Change, and currently assists Maureen in managing both the day-to-day operations and long-term strategic planning of the organization.
Erin Leckie, Student Initiative Coordinator: Erin has been an Outdoor Educator & Guide for several years, but her passion for working for environmental and social change has lead her to help create and implement a sustainability curriculum with the other inspired staff at Be the Change Earth Alliance. Erin enjoys adventuring, contemplating life, holistic living, and participating in community and social and environmental movements.
