Ana Santos ~ "Salmon Farming: The Bare Bones"
BC’s salmon runs are in trouble. Experience the plight of young salmon as they migrate through political and corporate shortsightedness.
Ana Santos has been a Squamish resident since 2004. Born and educated in Spain in language studies with a degree in English Philology, she has been a professional Spanish translator for 13 years; however, wildlife and the environment are her true passion. Following studies on Animal Behavior and Biology with BCOU and the University of Alaska, she spends half the year as a volunteer with the US Fish and Wildlife Service in Alaska, and the remainder with Squamish StreamKeepers, River Watershed Society and Environmental Conservation Society. At present, her volunteer efforts are devoted to raising awareness on climate change through Squamish CAN (Climate Action Network), and the campaign against salmon farming on the coast of BC.
