Arran Stephens has been at the leading edge of the organic food movement for most of his 65 years. He and wife Ratana co-founded Nature’s Path Organic Foods, employing more than 350.

 

Stephens seeks balance between worldly activity and spiritual practice, while returning something back to the community. He serves on various non-profit Boards including the SOS Ecology Centre, the Richmond Food Security Society, and the Rodale Institute.  He established Canada’s first vegetarian restaurant in 1967 serving millions of meals with compassion. His book, Journey to the Luminous, was published to acclaim in 1999.  Additionally, The Compassionate Diet for Well-Being will be released shortly.

 

Most recently, MacLean’s Magazine mentioned Arran under “Canada’s Top 30 Greenest Companies to Work For”. He and Ratana have four children – all active in the family enterprise. As an entrepreneur, artist, writer, gardener and seeker, Arran has an enduring commitment to family, community, sustainability and spirituality.
