Intro to SLS: Student Leadership in Sustainability and how to bring it into my classroom
September 22nd, 4pm - 5:30pm
Here’s an opportunity to investigate leading edge curricular and pedagogical tools to engage student inquiry, both in and outside the classroom, on environmental sustainability. In this workshop you will gain a greater awareness of what SLS: Student Leadership in Sustainability is and how it is used and discuss some of the 21st century pedagogies behind the program design.
This is a great introductory workshop that will give you ideas on things you can incorporate SLS into your classroom and help you decide whether this program is a fit for you and/or your school. This workshop is also useful for any returning teachers wanting a refresher, as we will also discuss the various tools available and different ways of using them providing a greater understanding of the breathe that SLS offers.
SLS is offered in French Immersion (LEDD) and Distance/Distributed Learning versions as well; this workshop is appropriate for all versions but will focus on the Blended English version.
