What do I get as a member? An SLS membership offers teachers online access to five independent, interchangeable modules in three versions: Blended (in-class English), Distance (independent study), and French. Each module focuses on developing personal values for a sustainable worldview and lifestyle.
Each module contain five to eight student inquiry & project-based 'Action Packs' that focus on specific sustainability topics, providing research links and experiential activities to develop student's core competencies in critical and creative thinking, communication, inquiry, and personal and social responsibility.
SLS also has packages that build off the 5 values to teach Climate Change, understand our larger Climate System, facilitate successful school projects (Innovation), and explore green careers. Look out for more offerings over the summer and year as they become available.
As a member, you also receive access to C3: Climate Change Curriculum and two student project kits: Innovation- Green Your School and the Waste Watchers Toolkit as well as any new resources developed in the 2017-2018 version of SLS such as resiliency curriculum and materials that follow First People's Principals of Learning.
