'Student Leadership for Change' and 'BC Green Games by Science World' Collaboration

Be the Change is excited to announce that Student Leadership for Change (SLC) Action Packs now qualify as an entry for the  BC Green Games by Science World to give more students the opportunity for experiential learning!

What is the BC Green Games?   How can students enter? 

The BC Green Games Contest celebrates environmental education and student action, providing students with a chance to win some exciting prizes.

All BC Green Games teams receive free field trip to one of the following BC Science Centres for all participants, and adult chaperones (up to 60 people per project submitted):  

  • Vancouver: BC Science World
  • Nanaimo: NS3
  • Prince George: The Exploration Place
  • Kamloops: BIG Little Science Centre
  • Vernon: The Okanagan Science Centre


Students can submit their completed SLC Action Pack(s) on their own, in pairs or groups, or even as a whole class. 

 All projects should include:

  • A project title- Name of the SLC Action Pack and Inquiry Question can suffice
  • A team name
  • A team photo
  • 3-10 photos OR a 5min max. video (can also be used in the class presentation!) *see example below
  • Their completed Action Pack, which replaces the essay requirements, and be sure to include any future plans to continue taking action
  • Tag Be the Change as the applicable community coach.

Students must submit their Action Pack entry with an accompanying video or photo essay to BC Green Games by March 1, 2020! Then teachers will be able to book a field trip between March 2 and June 30th through the BC Green Games field trip booking system.
