Water is Life is a 2-part workshop designed to deepen students’ understanding of the climate crisis and threats to freshwater.

Both workshops, which can be delivered to your classroom or youth group in-person or virtually, involve discussion and activities to help your students engage with environmental content in a new engaging way.

  • The first workshop takes students through the causes and impacts of climate change, the connection of water to life and the climate, and one of our favourite topics: climate justice. The workshop focuses on how students can be a part of the solution, guiding them through individual actions and introducing them to the importance of collective action for systemic change. Students will participate in an Action Challenge for 4-weeks following the first workshop. The challenge encourages students to consider their current habits and build new ones that align with their values and work for their lifestyles.
  • Once students have had a month to take positive action and build sustainable habits, we reconvene for the second part of the workshop. Students reflect on their experiences with the challenge and celebrate the impact they made. This workshop deepens their understanding of systemic change and creates a launch point for students to continue taking action. If you want more support or resources before or after the workshop please let us know and we can work with you to deepen your students' learning.

Please note this workshop is open to grades 1-12, with different versions to suit the needs of each grade level. Please also let us know if you have any accessibility requests, we do our best to accommodate all learners.

Educators and youth group leaders, please book each part of the workshop, ideally one month apart, below!

Water is Life workshops are available in-person in Metro Vancouver and Kelowna and virtually for the rest of BC. *KELOWNA* please book your workshop through this google form.
