Shiori was born and raised in Osaka, Japan, and came to Vancouver to do her undergraduate at UBC. She completed her bachelor of science in Natural Resource Conservation and joined the BTCEA team in January 2017. She spent much of her undergraduate life coordinating sustainability initiatives through student groups such as Common Energy UBC and the International Forestry Student Symposium. She is passionate about wildlife conservation, environmental education, sustainable food, and community. She hopes to one day combine her passions to create a platform for communities to connect through sustainability education. At BTCEA, Shiori currently coordinates the organization’s operational side, getting in touch with teachers and collaborators daily and ensuring that the organization’s programs are being received in the most effective and efficient way.
