2023 - Delta Secondary School Rain Garden

In 2023, Delta Secondary School's dedicated students, staff, and community came together to implement a comprehensive eco-initiative aimed at fostering a culture of environmental consciousness.

To enhance the school environment and promote biodiversity, Delta Secondary School embarked on creating a biodiverse rain garden on the school grounds. This garden, filled with native plants and flowers, not only beautified the a corner of the school grounds, but also provided valuable habitat for local wildlife and pollinators. Students actively participated in the planning, planting, and maintenance of the garden, gaining hands-on experience in environmental stewardship.

By equipping students with knowledge and fostering a sense of responsibility, Delta Secondary School aimed to empower the next generation of environmental leaders. The initiatives implemented by Delta Secondary School will continue to shape the attitudes and actions of students for years to come, leaving a sustainable legacy that extends far beyond the boundaries of the school.

Delta Secondary School's eco-initiative demonstrates their unwavering commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. Through their efforts, Delta Secondary School has empowered students, staff, and the community to take responsibility for the environment and become catalysts for positive change. Their journey towards sustainability serves as an inspiration to other educational institutions and communities seeking to make a difference in the world.
